In association with Matt Hopson from QA Audit NZ, NZOQ is able to bring you Quality Assurance in Construction, available as a public course (where there is sufficient demand) or as in-house training tailored to meet your specific needs.

The construction industry is vital to the economic growth of New Zealand—from large infrastructure projects to the provision of warm and dry homes. An important way to increase sector productivity and the quality of processes and outcomes is by training staff. Using his years of both international and national experience, Matt has developed a short practical one-day programme that is relevant and topical to all staff on the site.

Learning outcomes

Equip your site engineers and foremen with the knowledge and skills necessary to thrive in the construction industry, with the confidence to develop and understand how methodology becomes an ITP and is handed over as a QA pack to the client.

While there is a call for more workers to engage with the sector, recent industry experiences tell us that we need to be focused on high-quality processes and procedures to ensure that the end result meets the specification and is fit for purpose.

Construction companies are encouraged to register their staff to attend this short practical programme. Participants will engage in real-world case studies during the one-day session and will be awarded a certificate upon completion.

Differentiating between quality assurance (QA) and quality control (QC)
Understanding the construction project life cycle, including management plans
Crafting inspection and test plans (ITPs)
Utilising checklists effectively
Managing non-conformance reports (NCRs)
Navigating requests for information (RFIs)
Conducting inspections

Understanding the BCA (Council) consent conditions versus ITPs
