Delivered with IQM Group, five-day Lead Auditor training develops the knowledge and skills to plan, conduct, and lead first-, second-, and third-party management system audits.

The programme draws on ISO 19011 guidance and the requirements of quality, environmental, and occupational health and safety management systems. Practical exercises and case studies cover audit planning, team leadership, evidence evaluation, reporting, and follow-up.

It is suitable for internal auditors moving into audit leadership, people responsible for management systems, and those seeking recognised lead auditor training.

Course programme

Leading management system audits

Develop the knowledge and judgement to lead management system audits, including risk-based planning, sampling, remote audit methods, team leadership, reporting, and follow-up.

NZOQ delivers the course with IQM Group, which is listed by Exemplar Global as a Recognized Training Provider.

Participants work through standards review, audit planning, opening and closing meetings, evidence evaluation, reporting, and follow-up. Case studies and audit simulations provide opportunities to apply the methods in realistic situations.

Successful completion demonstrates the knowledge and skills assessed by the course for planning, conducting, and leading management system audits. Further experience, qualifications, or certification requirements may apply to work undertaken for certification bodies.

Candidates who meet all assessment requirements receive a Certificate of Competence for the applicable Exemplar Global-recognised competency units. Exemplar Global personnel certification is a separate application with additional requirements.
