Your Role and Responsibilities
In this role, you'll help run what runs the world, by taking on meaningful work that drives real impact. We're looking for a dynamic Quality Manager to lead and embed our quality strategy across factory operations, supply chain, and customer interfaces. This pivotal role, based in Napier, Hawke's Bay, is focused on building a strong quality culture, implementing robust systems, and ensuring compliance with international standards while also inspiring and developing a high-performing team.

Who is BioOra?
BioOra is proud to be New Zealand's first Chimeric Antigen Receptor (CAR) T-cell manufacturing company. At the forefront of cell therapy innovation, we are currently manufacturing for a Phase II clinical trial and advancing toward large scale commercial production. Our goal is to revolutionise cancer immunotherapy by automating and scaling the production of CAR T-cells, to deliver this life-saving technology at a fraction of standard costs and time.
What will you do?
Having successfully completed a phase one clinical trial, we are now immersed in a phase two trial manufacturing our CAR T-cell technology. As such, we need to scale up, at pace. At the centre of the electricity sector in New Zealand, Transpower owns, plans, builds, maintains, and operates the National Grid: the backbone of New Zealand's energy infrastructure, a robust and reliable high voltage transmission network that connects areas of generation with towns, cities, and businesses across New Zealand to power our country and lives 24 hours a day seven days a week.
About the team
Within our Grid Delivery Division, our Quality and Compliance team works closely with other internal teams, external service providers, contractors, and consultants. They ensure quality is at the forefront of what we do, including in the planning of how the work on our transmission system and assets is delivered, and is planned to be delivered, ensuring it is done right.
This work is critically important in assuring that regulatory, code of practice, industry standards, and Transpower's business and contractual requirements are aligned with through monitoring grid compliance, handling breaches, and facilitating asset capability changes. It drives feedback, learning opportunities, insights, and fosters ongoing improvements to help realise investment, construction, improvement, maintenance, and operations outcomes.
This approach not only helps keep the lights on, but also ensures effective delivery of services to our internal and external Grid Delivery partners, customers, and regulators, and contributes to the advancement of our energy future.
About the role
As Quality Specialist, you will play a pivotal role within the team, directly supporting the Grid Quality and Compliance Manager, offering strategic advice and guidance on quality matters with the aim of improving Transpower's maturity in the quality arena.

Your efforts will drive strong feedback loops, support continual improvement, and enhance management outcomes across our quality ecosystem.
What will you bring?
With a tertiary qualification or equivalent, ideally in Quality Management Systems, and/or potentially Asset Management, you will hold a current NZ driver's licence and will have a confirmed background in a related quality field!

In this role you will be leading quality and compliance objectives to ensure we are delivering on the required Quality Performance requirements and meeting our ISO compliance requirements for Health & Safety, Quality and Environmental.
You will be responsible for ensuring all systems are compliant and delivering the required outcomes. You’ll drive a culture of continuous improvement in a manner that enhances engagement while holding people to account, identifying opportunities for improvement and enhanced delivery.
