John M Jennings
John M Jennings is retiring from the position of Director of the New Zealand Universities Academic Audit Unit, a position he has held for eight years. The Unit administers external audits of quality assurance processes and systems in universities that support quality educational outcomes. He came to that position after a career at the University of Canterbury which included service in a range of administrative posts including Head of Department, Dean of the Faculty of Arts, and Deputy Chair and Chair of the Committee of Deans (the Academic Administration Committee). His last post at the university was as Quality Assurance Facilitator and in that post he was responsible for the self-assessment of quality processes associated with the external audit in 2000. John served for a short while on the NZOQ Canterbury Branch committee, and he has contributed presentations to NZOQ Quality Days in Christchurch and Auckland, and to the 2008 NZOQ conference.
