Election Statement

The links between NZOQ and Massey University extend back to the formation of NZOQ in 1977, and remain as strong and active today.   The NZOQ CQA programme together with Massey’s Grad Dip, Post Grad Dip and Masters programmes in quality systems offer members and other quality professionals an integrated, progressive and comprehensive education in quality at any level from Certificate through to PhD.  This solid educational core supports NZOQs world-class training courses, and all are kept current and relevant by the cutting-edge consultancy and research being conducted by the personnel, students and members of both organisations and their affiliates.  This gives NZOQ a uniquely strong position in the Southern Hemisphere as the national quality organisation of New Zealand, and is both a major current strength and a prime opportunity for future survival and growth in uncertain times.

Through seeking re-election to the NZOQ board, I hope to be able to continue working closely with NZOQ in maintaining and strengthening these valuable links and providing educational programmes, short courses and certification schemes (such as the recent Lean Six Sigma programme), that are a) nationally and internationally valued and sought-after, and b) informed by top quality consultancy, research, international collaboration and active, cooperative dialogue with other national quality organisations worldwide.     Through this approach NZOQ can offer maximum value to its members and remain, in conjunction with Massey University and other affiliated organisations, the national touchstone and benchmark for quality and business improvement information, personal development, education and training.
